Durban-Corbières

Durban-Corbières is situated alongside the River Berre. In the oldest part of the village lie a château and the church, both of which date from the 12th century. Durban has a population of approximately 600 inhabitants and the economic life of the village is dominated by wine and the cultivation of grapes. The village is the administrative centre of the Canton which consists of thirteen villages or communes. It is set in a landscape of hills and deep valleys and on the slopes of the vineyards, which are bathing in the sun of the Midi. Durban lies in the South-East of France and is situated between the towns of Narbonne, Perpignan and Carcassonne. It lies approximately 13 km from the sea. Durban is not big, but offers everything you need for a pleasant stay: an open-air swimming pool, tennis courts, pétanque court, supermarket, bakery, bank, medical center, a pharmacy, a gas station, a restaurant and a café. There are many beautiful footpaths and hiking routes around the village. On request we will organize a pétanque tournament or excursions.
